MCAF Introduction to Interpretation Training

This training will introduce you as a Cultural Broker to important guidelines, boundaries, and scope of practice when interpreting information in various languages. Spaces are limited (20), so please only sign up if you are planning to attend.

What to bring: notepad, pen, snack, and water.

Please arrive at 8:45 am at the front desk and someone will take you to the classroom area.

ABOUT CULTURAL BROKERS PROGRAM

If you know more than one language, immigrated to Canada from a different country, interested in helping newcomers to settle and integrate into Canadian society, then becoming a Cultural Broker with MCAF might be your next step!

Cultural brokers are connected with newcomers who are facing multiple barriers to settlement and integration. A cultural broker enhances access to community services for newcomers and supports organizations in the community that wish to offer culturally sensitive and inclusive services to newcomers. This is often done through interpretation into various languages and on-demand.

Requirements for becoming a Cultural Broker:
- Criminal Record Check with vulnerable sector
- Resume
- Cultural Broker application (request at culturalbrokers@mcaf.nb.ca)
- Introduction to Interpretation training
