Teaching Scratch Coding with Confidence

Join us for this engaging workshop designed to equip you with the foundational knowledge and effective classroom strategies to teach introductory Scratch coding to children in Grades 3–5. This hands-on session will explore essential concepts in visual block-based programming, including sequencing, loops, events, motion, and creative character animation.

Through a structured, supportive environment, you will gain practical experience with Scratch and learn how to confidently guide your students as they bring characters to life, build animations, and develop computational thinking skills through fun and interactive projects.

By the end of this workshop, you will be able to:

  • Understand the Scratch platform and how it enables coding through a block-based interface.
  • Guide students in creating and animating characters using sequences, events, and loops.
  • Support your students in developing logical thinking and problem-solving skills through interactive projects.
  • Integrate visual and creative elements—like backdrops, sound, and sprite movement—into engaging coding lessons.
