Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP) Settlement Plan Information Session
The Multicultural Association of Fredericton (MCAF) provides Settlement Plan Information & Orientation Sessions as part of their Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP). These sessions are designed to help newcomers and their families adjust to their new environment in Atlantic Canada, offering essential guidance on various aspects of settlement.
The AIP orientation sessions include:
- Pre-Arrival Services:
- Providing essential information and preparation before leaving the country of residence.
- Covering topics such as housing, banking, financial services, emergency services, rights and responsibilities, and Canadian cultural norms.
- Post-Arrival Services:
- Detailed guidance on navigating federal, provincial, and municipal programs and services, including education and healthcare systems in New Brunswick.
- Employment preparation, including pathways for foreign qualification recognition, professional mentorship, and workplace essential skills training.
- Community Integration:
- Facilitating connections with local services and community activities.
- Offering language training, health support services, children and youth programs, and various group activities for men, women, and seniors.
These sessions ensure that newcomers are well-equipped to integrate into their new community, fostering a sense of belonging and promoting successful settlement outcomes.
