Fredericton’s green spaces serve as a gathering area for many community members and hold a wide variety of trees that provide shade, shelter, and aesthetic to both people and wildlife. But what if these frequently used areas could provide even more for our community? Through public feedback, the Fredericton food forest initiative was created. This project includes the introduction of edible fruit trees and native pollinator plants along our green spaces and trail sides. The goal of this project is to encourage community gardening and education on healthy living!
